10 Reasons Why PrimaCare® is right for you
Safe and highly purified

PrimaCare®'s essential fatty acids (EFAs) are from a highly purified pharmaceutical-grade fish oil source. DHA and EPA are provided for optimal prenatal care for you
and your baby

An abundance of information is available in the literature that examines the potential bene-
fits to mother and child when omega-3 essential fatty acids are obtained through diet or
supplementation. (11-13, 22, 48)
The natural fish oil source of EFAs in PrimaCare and
PrimaCare ONE prenatal vitamins is a safe pharmaceutical-grade source. The fish oil is refined
via a patented multi-step purification process. The FDA’s established acceptable level of
mercury is 1.0 ppm. The fish oil source in PrimaCare and PrimaCare ONE prenatal vitamins has
a maximum specification for mercury (0.025 ppm) that is 40 times lower than the FDA’s
established acceptable level of mercury. (1) Additionally, fish-oil based fatty acids act as a
natural stool softener to decrease the risk of constipation. (36) Algae-based fatty acids, like those contained in some prenatal vitamins (sometimes referred to as “all natural vegetarian
source” or “plant source”)
, do not contain EPA, which is needed for patients to receive the
full benefits of DHA and EPA.
“Fish Oil capsules contain no mercury. Mercury (actually methyl mercury, the toxic form) is water soluble, not oil-soluble, and when the oil is extracted from the fish, the mercury (and lead, cadmium and other heavy metals) stays behind in the fish…”
